Neon Outfit

Neon outfit is here! 🙂 Bright and loud neon shirt paired with a slightly less bright blue, and balanced with oversized boyfriend jeans. As much as I wanted to own boyfriend jeans, I think I will have to return this pair, because they don’t really flatter my figure. Even if I lose a few pounds, the jeans will be too big. Anyhow, I do like all the brightness neon color gave this look! Let me know what do you think?

Shine Bright in Neon Color

Neon trend was popular a year ago, and is not going anywhere this Spring and Summer. It is a loud color, and one has to be careful when wearing it to not stop the traffic when on the street… 🙂

…and here comes rule #1:

it’s better to wear less neon, than too much (I recommend no more than two items)

If you want to wear neon, but in doubt how…

…read rule #2:

wear neon trend as an accessory, such as a scarf, watch, bracelet, earrings, necklace.

A neon necklace can become a great bold statement, while a neon bracelet or nail polish will add a trendy pop of color.

If you have a bright neon blouse, pants, skirt or a dress, there are three things to consider…

…rule #3

pair neon color with dull shades to tone it down

wear it with white, black or tan colors to create more accent

wear neon colors together for contrast, more interest, and fun!

Remember the important rule #4…

wear a happy smile on your face, it’s a must when wearing bright neon.

Tomato Basil Soup

Today I made a very tasty Tomato Basil Soup. I consider it healthy, and my whole family really liked it. Here is the site where I found it www.allrecipes.com, and here is what you need to make it:

Tomato Basil Soup

– 4 tomatoes – peeled, seeded and diced

– 4 cups tomato juice

– 14 leaves fresh basil

– 1 cup heavy whipping cream

– 1/2 cup butter

– salt and pepper to taste

Directions:

Place tomatoes and juice in a stock pot over medium heat. Simmer for 30 minutes. Puree the tomato mixture along with the basil leaves, and return the puree to the stock pot.
Place the pot over medium heat, and stir in the heavy cream and butter. Season with salt and pepper. Heat, stirring until the butter is melted. Do not boil.

Today I wore a beautiful combination of teal and orange-red colors. The two colors, while being strong, are complementary. The red beaded necklace makes a bold statement on the teal background, while beige clutch and sandals add some calmness and balance to the striking look.

Spring-Inspired Nails

My nail design was inspired by my favorite season. I love Spring, new grass, fresh flowers, and all the optimism that comes with it every year. For the last couple of weeks, every morning when I look out the window, I see this beautiful peach tree with pink flowers all over. It brightens my day, and reminds me how many beautiful things are in the world. Unfortunately, there is evil and ugly things, but there are also so many things that are wonderful, so many people that are kind, so many places that are unforgetable. You just have to look around, notice, and appreciate them.

What I Wore to Church Today

Sunday is a wonderful day when I am usually going to church. Today was one of those days. Normally, I wear skirts or dresses to church, but sometimes it’s just easier to wear pants.

Anyhow, today I wore my black jean skirt, favorite shoes, and one of the best jackets I’ve ever had. I bought this black jacket at Armani Exchange when I was 9 months pregnant with one of my babies. I couldn’t really try it on, as my belly was huge. But I was so in love with it, that I could only hope it will fit me after my baby will be born…and it did! The jacket was rather expensive for me, but it turned out to be one of the greatest investments!

Crêpe-style Pancakes For Dessert

Last week I made Crêpe-style pancakes Nalysnyky with salty ingredients, and today I made them sweety-sweet for dessert. I rolled them with condenced milk and poured melted chocolate on top. The addition of fresh strawberries made me feel like I was eating somewhat healthy. 🙂

Another Military Look!

This is one of my favorite outfits. It’s cute, comfortable, and military. I bought this jacket at Forever 21 for $36, and it turned out to be one of my best investments. I wear it a lot, and with different looks.

As for the shoes, they are very comfortable, and I love the shape of the heel. Here is a similar pair: Michael Kors

Pants are another favorite piece of mine. I got them at Kohl’s last year. They are not too tight, but just the right length to visually lengthen the leg. 🙂

Beach Dress!

Remember my post “Getting Ready For Puerto Rico Vacation!“? There, I had a few beach dresses that I was considering buying for my trip. A few days after I wrote the post, I was at Macy’s, and I fell in love with this cute dress. It doesn’t even fit me perfectly, but I really like the print and the color combination. The dress is very appropriate to wear at the beach with flip flops or flat sandals. It will also look dressy and elegant if you pair it with high-heels and clutch.
