Walking On The Beach…

Here is another outfit I wore at the beach on our vacation. I am so glad I took tons of pictures there, because it was truly a time to remember. That was the day my husband agreed to take as many pictures as I wanted, and so I took full advantage of his willingness for sure. 🙂

We decided that we would relax most of the day, walk on the beach, have some lunch , and swim in the warm tropical waters of the Caribean. Anyway, I knew I had to wear something cool and simple. A dark green top with a high-low hemline, white short shorts, and white sandals were a good choice.

Party Dress

Remember the post of mine “Which party dress should I choose?”? Well, here is the dress I chose and wore for that nice evening in Puerto Rico. I liked all the dresses I showed you in that previous post. However, the reason for choosing this dress over the other was because I felt like it flatters my body more. Ruffled details and white color on top complemented my skin color and dark hair, while black well-fitted bottom of the dress made me look thinner (I hope) and longer. 🙂

Crêpe-style pancakes Nalysnyky

Nalysnyky are thin pancakes that can be served for breakfast, lunch or even dinner. It all depends on what they are served with. You can roll them with sweet filling like jem, honey, Nutella, berries or peanut butter for breakfast. You can stuff them with salty ingredients like meat, vegetables, cheese or mushroom sauce (my favorite) for lunch. You can also easily transform it into a dinner dish when served with caviar or a dessert when served with ice cream.

Nalystnyky is a food that my mom was always making for me, and so it makes me feel very good to make them for my children.

To make it easier, below are step-by-step photos on how to make it:

1. Mix 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 tsp salt and 1 tsp sugar in a bowl.

2. Add 2 eggs.

3. Pour 2 cups of milk into the bowl.

4. Mix it until smooth. The batter should be thin. In fact, sometimes I add a little water if it seems a little thick.

5. I use approximately 1 tbs of sunflower oil to grease the frying pan. Make sure the pan is heated to a medium heat before you pour the batter. Also, for each pancake you have to use just enough batter to cover the greased pan. That way nalystnyky will be thin and tasty.

6. Cook nalystnyky on medium heat for about 1 minute or so, then turn it over.

7. Your pancake is ready!

Stuff it with your favorite filling and enjoy! 🙂

Bon appetite!

Print Inspired Outfit

To take a break from posting my outfits from Puerto Rico, today I decided to post a warm outfit with bright colors.

If you are not afraid of bright colors and live close to Kohl’s and Target, this is the outfit for you! :-). I can’t say that bright prints and yellow sweater represent my style, but I don’t mind experimenting. In fact, it is one of the reasons why I have this blog. It helps me be creative, and wear sometimes clothes I didn’t think match. It’s fun!

Feeling the Breeze

My husband and I had even better vacation than we could’ve imagined. I loved everything about Puerto Rico… warm water of the ocean, a wonderful view we had from our balcony, a romantic dinner at the beach, shopping, and many other things…I enjoyed it all!

I did bring with me wonderful photos that I was able to capture, and I will be posting my favorite ones in my next few posts. For now, I want to show you one of the outfits I wore while vacationing. Enjoy!

Which party dress should I choose?

As I was browsing from one online store to the other looking for a beautiful evening dress for that special night with my husband in Puerto Rico, I came across a wonderful website www.simplydresses.com. It is a store that sells hundreds of dresses for parties, cocktail, weddings, formals, special events, office, etc. So many choices, and such beautiful dresses.

Here are the dresses I like and consider for that evening, and I would love to hear your opinion on which one you like more:

Don’t you just love these dresses?!

Black , Black, Black…

Today I am posting the outfit I had underneath my military style coat from previous post. Spring is coming soon, and here, in California, it will only get warmer. Therefore, this maybe my last outfit with over-the-knee boots for the season. Who knows…:-)

As for my outfit…I am wearing black on black with black! A super short sweater dress is a little too short for me to wear it by itself, so I paired it with leggins. To make the look more attractive, I added my favorite over-the-knee high boots. Flirty and modest in one!

Black is a very elegant color. I like wearing well-fitting black clothes, they always make me look thinner (at least that’s my hope). Check out my board on Pinterest Black and Elegant. There are a lot of inspirational images there with black colors. (Click here and follow me there if you like to enjoy all the beautiful and inspirational pictures together). Here are some of my favorite ones:

I am still looking for that perfect evening dress, and my next post will include the dresses I am considering for the special evening with my husband on the island.

Trendy Military Coat

Today, to continue with my favorite trend, I wore a military coat. High collar and symmetrical buttons on top draws the attention and interest, while asymmetrical pleated tulip on the bottom of the coat finished with rushed design adds a very feminine touch to the coat. I love pairing medium size coats with over-the-knee boots, and that’s exactly what I did in this outfit.

In my next post you will see what I wore underneath the coat. All I can say is that it was a black well-fitting outfit. 🙂
