Day 4 of 5 Days/5 Outfits Challenge with Boot-Cut Jeans!

Day 4 is here! This is an old coat of mine that I don’t use very often here in California, because it almost never gets cold enough to wear it. However, I got my chance a few days ago. The day was so cold and rainy. The gray color of the outfit represented my mood and the weather outside all too well. However, to avoid feeling and looking bored, I added a touch of red to make the outfit more interesting and exciting.

Layered Chicken Salad

I love salads, especially if they consist of chicken and apples. Just add some healthy ingredients to it like onion, celery, nuts, eggs, and mix with mayonnaise. I don’t think you can go wrong with that, at least not with me. 🙂 Here is one of my salads!

Ingredients:

Roasted Chicken Breast

1 medium apple (I like gala)

¼ cup of finely chopped onion

1 cooked egg

½ shredded cheese

Mayonnaise

The ingredients will be put in layers with a thin layer of mayonnaise on almost all of the ingredients. Here are the steps:

1 layer – finely chopped egg white,

 2 layer – cubed apple

(cover with a thin layer of mayonnaise)

3 layer – finely chopped onion

4 layer – cubed chicken breast

(a thin layer of mayonnaise)

 5 layer – shredded cheese

Decorate with egg yolk and apple.

Make sure you cover with a thin layer, as you don’t want your salad to taste like mayonnaise only.

Bon appetite! 🙂

Day 3 of 5 Days/5 Outfits Challenge with Boot-Cut Jeans!

#3 is here! I love wearing dressy and simple clothes and accessories that contradict each other. I guess that’s the main reason why I am so in love with military trend. There is something intriguing about mixing rough military print with feminine sparkles and leopard.

Today’s outfit is also a combination of casual clothes and dressy accessories. Off-white jacket and boot-cut jeans with high heels, clutch, and pearl bracelet! Warm orange accessories and cool cyan sweater are balanced by off-white color of the jacket. This outfit most definitely represents my style…comfortable and feminine. 🙂

Day 2 of 5 Days/5 Outfits Challenge with Boot-Cut Jeans!

Here comes day 2 of my challenge! For today’s outfit I decided to go with white and gray colors. Gray color can look boring, but not when you add white and blue-gray to the combination. Necklace with pearls and a black file folder add some elegance to the outfit.

5 Days/5 Outfits with Boot-Cut Jeans!

Here we go again…I came up with a new challenge…

                               5 Days/5 Outfits with Boot-Cut Jeans!

As far as I remember, boot-cut jeans were always in my wardrobe. They are classic, comfortable, and very practical. You can look elegant and classic when wearing them with high heels. If you want to have a more casual look, I would recommend pairing them with flats. If you choose to have a sporty and comfortable look, consider wearing casual t-shirts or hooded sweaters with sneakers.

One of my favorite outfits is the one with extra-long bootcut jeans and high heel. I like how it lengthens my leg and gives my body a little curve. (click here and here to see me wearing boot-cut jeans)

The main trick to remember is when you wear jeans, wear the ones that fit you good. They will give your body good proportion and balance.

Hairdo with French Braid

I was brushing my little girl’s hair when decided to do a classic french braid. I like braiding her hair in small sections, it makes the braid more interesting and detailed. When it was done, the hairstyle didn’t look complete to me. (See first photo) And so, I decided to make a pony tail with the braid and the rest of her hair.  I pulled her hair only half-way through a ponytail holder. It created a cute messy bun. If you want your braid to be messy, make sure your hair is dry when you braid it. That’s exactly why I didn’t get my girl’s hair wet, I like messy braids. 🙂

Happy Sunday Everyone!

Elegant Black and White

I wore this outfit to a Christmas party at my husband’s work. I wanted to look elegant and dressy, and so the combination of black and white colors was a perfect one for me.

Shades Of Blue

Bright colors will continue to be trendy for Spring-Summer 2013, and I love it. I love experimenting with clothes and styles. This blog gives me such a great opportunity to play with different colors and various shades, and to not be scared of mixing and matching unmatched…and then trying to figure out how to find balance, harmony, and style in the look that I put together. It’s fun!

Fur Vest and How to Wear it!

Fur is so trendy this winter! Buying a fur vest was a great investment for me, as it’s stylish, warm, and it also allows layering, which is another trend that does not want to go away. Fur vest, while being a focal point of the outfit, also adds a nice texture to it. However, most of the fur vests can look too bulky, and so there are few tips to remember when wearing it:

Consider:

–       keeping the rest of the outfit a little more basic and well fitting,

–       wearing it with tight leather pants, skinny jeans, or pencil skirt.

–       wearing a thick belt with it.

Avoid:

–       too many accessories

–       mixing too many patterns, try to keep the vest the focal point of the outfit

–       wearing animal print or other fur items.

Feeling Tan

Today, while out shopping for groceries, I felt like wearing neutral and low contrasting color combination. The oversized animal print handbag and the floral scarf is what made the look more interesting by adding texture and color to it.

Elegant, stylish, and trendy are the three words that come to my mind when I look at the three outfit layouts I created for this post. Which one do you like more?
